Piranhas by Pancake

Every month, Pancake gets to choose a free book as part of her book club. She was all squeally tonight, chomping at the bit to share this month's pick.

"MOM!! It's all about Gross STUFF animals do. Here, do you wanna me to read it to you?!!"

"Of course sweetie. Go for it!", I holler.

We retire to the living room.

And she opens to this page. About Piranhas.

She loves gross animal stuff. She loves the cockroaches at the zoo. Snakes too.

Then I say,

"Yeah know, if you keep growing new teeth, soon, you'll be able to chomp like a Piranha."

She smiles and the turns to page about vampire bats.

:)

If you look carefully, you can see the pink streaks in her hair. She wanted her hair dyed for her birthday. :)

She IS rocking some pink streaks, I didn't even catch that!

Okay, that book will give me nightmares tonight. Not really, but when I was her age, it probably would have freaked me out. Maybe just grossed me out...

I bet she is a riot, that kiddo of yours... Her spunk comes across in the pictures you share of her.

Did I see that you said the word 'vlog' somewhere else? Hmm...
(and, you have seen Slingblade, right? My quote about liking the way you talk is from that movie. Don't want you thinking I'm all weird. Or, weirder.)

So, you sound all WisCAHNsin, huh? I lived in northern Iowa, and I am familiar with that accent. Have I ever told you I went to Ozzfest at Apple Creek? At least, I think it was called Apple Creek... Nearby, there was in fact a creek, or was it a river? Apple River? Anyway, we rented innertubes (one for the beer cooler, too) and floated all afternoon before heading to concert. Little tip: don't wear flipflops to Ozzfest. My feet were bleeding by the time we got back to the car after the concert was over, and had I been sober, I bet that would have been hurting like a mofo.

If you vlog that will put me in checkmate, and I will be forced to give it a try. So, think it through. You know. Take your time. Whatever. :^)

I loved books like that when I was a kid. Love the streaks... I didn't get to do that until I graduated high school....

Cam: Yes, Apple Creek. You've mentioned this before. But never the sandles or whatnot.

I'm sure i'ma blend of Fargo/northern Iowa type. Will be coming up the Vlog :)

O and I've never seen slingblade :)

But cool bean CAM! :)

Savage: Yes, the book has a certain savage charm! And pink streaks? hmmm....

I'm glad that my kids aren't the only ones who like the weird gross stuff!

Pink streaks = awesome! The school won't allow me to do my girl's hair that way... :(

Yes, VLOG! Do it! Do it!

Mrs. Hall said...

HEY YOU!

your school won't let you do what now?

didn't even occur to me to ask her school. ;)

Vlog will be up by next month. gotta couple more ideas to get to before the vlog :)

I like gross stuff too :-O

That's why I'm a lawyer...

Slingblade, it's Billy Bob Thornton, you won't believe it when you see it.

Please, please watch these two clips! You will understand my quote, 'I like the way you talk' then. And why, if I do a vlog, and sound like Slingblade, folks might hesitate to come back...

By the way, it really is a great movie!

Bunny: yes, gross is fun sometimes ;)

Cam: Jeez, on a mission to get me to see the movie eh?

:)

Cam said...

Yeah, they pay me...

Billy Bob comes by and drops off a check, and I'm all, "Hey, BiBo. How's Hollywood?"

Then, he's all, "It would be better if you were there, C-Lab."

And, I'm all, "I've told you a million times, BiBo, I am happy living in a town the size of your bathroom. Okay? It suits me."

Then, he cries again. Happens every single Thursday...

it must just totally be a kid thing.

for the past 2 months, all my son has done is bring a different animal book home from the library each week.
